Men and women don't have the same psychological make-up. Women and men are DIFFERENT. Yet, searching for equality among men and women is really important.
There are a lot of talks about chivalry and about treating women right. I am all for feminism, believe me. But I have to throw this out there because of my own curiosity, and also to hopefully get some discussion going (HINT HINT): Can women and men ever truly reach equality when at the heart of things, how we think about things and act on things are very different?
I JUST WROTE A HUGE RESPONSE. It didn't like it.

It depends on what kind of equality you're discussing. In the workplace? Yeah, women and men should receive equal wages because you can't substantiate that men are naturally more diligent than women; ergo, they deserve to be paid higher. There's no concrete evidence. I also think reaching a "true" equality would make men and women interchangeable, and I don't think that would be healthy to society and our world at all. I'll give the example of the military: women aren't allowed to serve on the front lines. Besides the obvious natural physical disadvantages women have compared to men, there's the risks to morale when women are placed in the company of men at the heart of a military conflict. We were made with differences to complement each other. Supplementary is not always what's most efficient.
