As I write this blog, I'll be reading about feminist issues and constantly trying to learn more about women's rights. I wanted to write a few reviews in case anyone is interested in reading different perspectives of different women (and men) on feminism. So, if you're interested in finding out more, I suggest these reads.
Full Frontal Feminism
Back in January, my sister, Hannah, gave me a book for a Birthday present. The book became kind of a joke in my family, because it was unclear if I actually would have liked the gift (typically, books aren’t my favorite gifts, but fret not, this is changing). I decided to read the book anyway, and I ended up with a new perspective and new insight into my interests.
Full Frontal Feminism by Feminist Author Jessica Valenti is an excellent primer to feminism. It not only provides an excellent basis for looking at women's issues but is sassy and fun to read. I would recommend anyone to read it not only because it’s snarky and hilarious, but also because it’s smart and puts the issues right in front of your face. I can’t say that you’ll agree with everything said in the book, but I can say that it will cause you to think through the issues that are presented. It might even cause you to call yourself a feminist.
